Bambino’s Family Restaurant
In Italian, ‘Bambino’ means child. In Steger, Illinois, ‘Bambino’ means the best pizza restaurant in town. But Bambino’s isn’t just a pizza restaurant. Bambino’s Family Restaurant is an Italian-American, family dining experience – and it has been that way for the past twenty-five years.
Open for both lunch and dinner, seven days a week, Bambino’s offers fourteen unique sandwich selections and seven different pasta dishes, known throughout Steger as ‘Bambino’s Specialties.’ Local favorites include Italian classics, like The Beef and Sausage Combo, which features Bambino’s very own homemade Italian sausage atop two slices of garlic bread, and The Barbeque Beef, topped in Frank’s very own secret barbeque sauce. Favorite pastas include The Chicken Tetrazzini, a creamy combination of mushrooms, fettuccini, Parmesan, garlic, and boneless chicken breast, and, of course, ‘The Fettuccini Bambino’, which combines bay shrimp and broccoli in a cheesy, garlic sauce.
It doesn’t stop there, though. Bambino’s is a pizza restaurant, after all, and if you come to Bambino’s with a taste for pizza, pizza is what you’ll get. Chicago-styled pizza, mind you, at any size, with up to twelve different toppings. Make your own combination, combining anything from ground beef, ham, Pepperoncini, green onions, or spinach. Or, if you’re of a more traditional taste, there’s nothing wrong with sausage, pepperoni, and cheese. Bambino’s prides itself in its quality pizza, and it’s this quality pizza that keeps the locals coming in time and time again. Of course, it might also be our atmosphere that attracts them. Bambino’s is a family restaurant, and there’s nothing better than a delicious, pizza pie to bring any family together. In old Italy, pizza was actually a traditional family meal made from bread, tomatoes, and whatever other leftovers the cook could find. Back then, pizza had a way of bonding families, because it was sliced and shared, and a combination of everything that had been eaten throughout the week, together. Bambino’s does its best to recreate this old world sentiment, and takes great pride in its ability to bring people together. In this busy world, it can be hard enough to just gather the whole family and have them sit down for a meal, but here at Bambino’s we don’t think there could be anything more important. And while we certainly don’t top our pizzas with leftovers anymore, we really have found that these pie shaped foods still have a way of bringing people together.
So, if you come to our pizza restaurant, expect great pizza and a great, family time. Expect to be greeted and served by Bambino’s friendly wait staff, and expect, mostly, delicious, Italian classics. Bambino’s is a pretty popular place in Steger, so expect a crowded house and make reservations if you expect to find a seat, too. Of course, if you feel like staying in, don’t hesitate to give us a call, because this pizza restaurant does pizza delivery too!
